Raw real natural materials are used on this project: raw exposed concrete, sustainable harvested rough sawn local wood, raw steel, materials that patina and oxidize naturally helping the natural qualities of the structure blend more successfully into the natural setting of the historic nearby town of Truckee and the fresh mountain environment. The “green” eco hotel is a kind of industrial exposed structure old Tahoe lodge blend of organic architecture and indigenous architecture, says the natural architect Ken Meffan.
